A little bit weird, a little bit political with a lot of humor.

Joan of Arc, Dick Cheney, Mark Twain . Perhaps the weirdest album title I'll see all year. I mean, they have a song on the album called "The Title Track of This Album". Meant to be funny. Who can say? Joan of Arc ... are you trying to mess with me over here... seriously , you're trying to punk me with that title, right? I'm not saying I don't like what you do as musicians... but sometimes... you are a bit strange... then again, after In Rape Fantasy and Terror Sex We Trust , I sh...

So, you're a Montana State University student, going through the Montana border back into US, and you have to answer the call of nature... and you end up clogging the toilet at the small-town border station. Well, that is rather embarrassing in and of itself. But it doesn't stop there.... you get arrested for clogging the toilet because the authorities think you did it on purpose. OK, its getting a lot more embarassing now. But wait... there's more. Because you are a resident of Great Fall...

Al Franken has recently proposed a different way for individuals to vent their dislike of Bush in a relatively safe and harmless way. He has suggested that citizens who want to voice their disapproval of the current president to open their windows as he approaches the podium to accept the nomination and shout 'Fuggedaboudit!' or whatever term of negation is popular in your region of the country.... and unlike a lot of the other protest techniques that are being advocated by some groups that a...

I was at epitonic.com last night, and Ikept seeing ads for Loretta Lynn's Van Lear Rose , and seeing as epitonicis more an indie/electronic site, I had to see why they would advertise LorettaLynn of all people to such an audience. So I clicked the link, and was left stupefied. A player pop-up at the site, and it started playing the title track of thealbum, and it didn't sound like the country legend I had been familiar with as achild, not the sound I was expecting from a Coal Miner's Da...

Oh, we all have them... those songs we know we just shouldn't like, butsomething inside us just makes it so irresistible. Songs with bad lyrics or oddinstrumentation, or from an artist that is tacky... or you love heavy metal butdeep down, you just need to hear Debbie Boone belt out "You Light Up MyLife" when no one is home. Or you like jazz and reggae, but the theme songfrom Footloose just gets you going too.  Come on, I know you want to confess. It'll be ok... there will...

This week I thought I would explore the world of net radio. I have beenactive with radio online for quite a few years, and I thought that it would beworth exploring these types of sites this week. Enjoy! Launch - http://www.launch.com Launch was a small mp3 service that just exploded, becoming one of thelargest online radio outlets, especially after Yahoo bought them out. Unliketerrestrial radio services, your "station" is created by you, byrating music on the service, from ...

When I was reading through the news on Yahoo!, I saw an ad for the FavoriteAdvertising Icon Poll , but they made the ad look like a boxing poster(Willthe Pillsbury Doughboy topple the Kool-Aid Man?), and it got me to thinking: I'dactually pay to see that. I mean, come on... who wouldn't want to see Mr. Clean take on the MichelinMan in a no-holds-barred street brawl (my money would be on the Michelin Man in3), or the Morton Salt Girl taking on the Miss Chiquita in a cat fight. Or howabout...

Well, here's a real shocker. Apparently drinking is really popular withcollege students. Who would've thunk it? And what's more, apparently they spendas much on alcohol than they do on books AND food combined. Ok, true, it ISBritain, so they have a good reason to drink, but I think the trend iseasily applicable to North America as well.  Of course, alcohol and college should get along famously. I mean, here youhave a bunch of people who are there to live and learn, who are drinking aliqu...

We all have odd abilities that we don't know why we have them, but we do,with some being infinitely better than others. I have a minor psychic ability, though it isn't something to really brag about. Now I wasn't imbued with thepower to predict future events, or the winning lottery numbers... no powers toimprove my lot in life. What stupid psychic ability did I get saddledwith?  Whenever I think about an episode of a show in syndication or movie that Iliked, it is usually on within 3 da...

I think the hunt for terrorists is getting a little too partisan now. I mean,I support going after terrorists, but if you go after everyone who holds adissenting view under increased scrutiny, well, then things are just going tostart turning to anarchy. And the first step in this slow decent into madnessoccurred a few weeks ago when Ted Kennedy became a suspected terrorist in theeyes the Department of Homeland Security. Who would have thought that Ted Kennedy of all people was a suspectedt...

So a bear walks into a bar.... wait, that's not how this story goes. A largeblack bear got himself drunk after snatching and consuming 36 beers and hadhimself a wee snooze in a campground in a Washington State Park. Of course if ithad been Canadian beer, well, he'd have been down after 12. http://edition.cnn.com/2004/US/West/08/18/bear.beer.reut/index.html Somehow I was reminded of that episode of the Simpsons where there was a bear"rampaging" down Evergreen Terrace, and Barney ended ...

I was just reading a story on The Wargamer (amongst other places) about a recent ordinance that is going to have a hugeimpact on cyber-cafes in Los Angeles, an ordinance that is forcing theseestablishments to basically change the way they do business. At first, thisdoesn't seem to be relevant for most of the people here... after all, themajority of us are at home or at an office or school using the internet, so itwouldn't affect us. What bothers me is the suspicion that these places arebecom...
