A little bit weird, a little bit political with a lot of humor.

Well, here's a real shocker. Apparently drinking is really popular withcollege students. Who would've thunk it? And what's more, apparently they spendas much on alcohol than they do on books AND food combined. Ok, true, it ISBritain, so they have a good reason to drink, but I think the trend iseasily applicable to North America as well.  Of course, alcohol and college should get along famously. I mean, here youhave a bunch of people who are there to live and learn, who are drinking aliqu...

So a bear walks into a bar.... wait, that's not how this story goes. A largeblack bear got himself drunk after snatching and consuming 36 beers and hadhimself a wee snooze in a campground in a Washington State Park. Of course if ithad been Canadian beer, well, he'd have been down after 12. http://edition.cnn.com/2004/US/West/08/18/bear.beer.reut/index.html Somehow I was reminded of that episode of the Simpsons where there was a bear"rampaging" down Evergreen Terrace, and Barney ended ...

I was browsing the Bad Cookie site, and I clicked on their sponsor link, and I was surprised to find amongst 5 other books about fortune cookies, America the Book by Jon Stewart... I didn't know it had anything to do with fortune cookies... imagine my shock. Honestly, I think that Amazon is using its own technology to push a few items in a less than subtle way(and not with any particular political agenda mind you), despite the assurances that recommendations would be based on sales ...

This was a rather heartwarming story to read: An old widower, who lived alone with 7 cats after his wife passed away in 1992, started taking ads in the paper to seek adoption by a family as their grandfather. It sounds kooky and depending on the circumstances, a little creepy, as I read the story, I was drawn into the narrative. I mean, the idea is a novel one, and there is something appealing about the thought that a nice but lonely old man can find himself company and a new role in life ...

We all have odd abilities that we don't know why we have them, but we do,with some being infinitely better than others. I have a minor psychic ability, though it isn't something to really brag about. Now I wasn't imbued with thepower to predict future events, or the winning lottery numbers... no powers toimprove my lot in life. What stupid psychic ability did I get saddledwith?  Whenever I think about an episode of a show in syndication or movie that Iliked, it is usually on within 3 da...

I was watching television on Saturday, just flipping between college games, when I just happened to stop on a station during a commercial break. There was a FedEx commercial on and... I recognized one of the actors in it as someone I not only went to high school with, but someone who I had actually known AND had acted with during that time. To say I was surprised to see this guy in a such a prominent ad would be to vastly underestimate my reaction, because I haven't seen this guy in like ...

Hopefully this will be a new beginning for me being a fun blogger after the last few entries(and the ones I didn't post over the past few days). Basically the gist is you answer some questions and it determines what cartoon character you are. Though I am not sure, I think they are all characters from the Warner Brothers cartoons, so whoever you get is probably going to be someone you watched on TV as a kid or even with your kids. Anyway, here's who I got: You are Bugs BunnyYou a...

It took me 4 weeks ot false starts to take on the Sunday New York TImes Crossword, I finally conquered one last night. It BEAT it! WOOT! *plays the Rocky Music and leaps in jubilation* Thank you Florida Key, Mr, Will Shortz and Elizabeth C. Gorski! Who would have thought that knowing Olestra, Basalt, Lilith, and Knossos would pay off. Now, let's see if I can make it two weeks in a row.

I was reading Yahoo! News as I am apt to do in the morning, and I saw a story and a picture that just boggled my mind made me want, no.... need to write this entry. I am looking at those bottles, with their cloudy strangely colored liquids, and the thought of drinking what's inside makes me want to ralph... it looks nasty.... I mean, who wants to drink a Turkey and Gravy flavored beverage from a bottle!? or Green Bean casserole.?! I mean, that's just... ACK! Now, I generally like ...

Well, since it was Friday, I thought it would be fun to post this.... What country in the world are you? Here's my results Japan - Viewed as the technological powerhouse of the 21st Century, it has lived a reletively solemn and singular history. Positives: Technologically Advanced. Economic Superpower. Healthy Populace. Negatives: Small. Isolated and Sometimes Ignored. Unlucky with Disasters. Which Country of the World are You? brought to you by Quizilla ...

Nicknames... we've all had them in the past(at least I think we all have), and while some of them are good and some of them are simply awful, I think they all have a tendency to stick with us, like barnacles on the bow of our ship of memories. I thought it would be sort of interesting to talk about them. And I don't mean a name you picked for yourself for a login or other use. I mean, names you were given by other people. I would like this to be a positive experience, so if you don't want to ...

Usually whenever someone asks me for a picture, I always send this one first.... just to see what they say. Most people laugh... some people get pissed off about it. However, I think its a very accurate version of what I look like. hehehehe

We had an office Halloween party last year... and seeing how I am a cheap bastard... I spent the minimum I could get away with... which was $12. I think it turned out OK though.... hehehe. Breakdown of immediate costs: 10 dollars for cheapo costume 2 dollars for rubber gloves I had that old winter coat and those boots hanging around for a long time.... and the coat especially came in handy when I discovered that the suit that came with it was designed for a shorter man than...

Sorry I haven't been around... my computer had a lil ole breakdown yesterday, and I don't know when it is going to be fixed(because I don't know what's wrong with it specifically). I am currently at the library, but my time is rather limited at the moment... I will try to keep up, but I know I am missing a lot of stuff, and I don't want anyone to think I have foresaken their work or anything.
