A little bit weird, a little bit political with a lot of humor.

James Caviezel, who was last seen as Jesus Christ, is rumored to be in the running to play Superman in Bryan Singer's new retelling of that mythos(thank you Kevin Smith for putting the word "mythos" and Superman forever together in my mind).A lot of actors have expressed fears that playing the Man in Steel would typecast them, but Caviezel would seem to fit will in the role, and after playing Jesus... it would seem to be hard to get typecast as Superman. Then again, he has already played ...

As a followup to How well do you know your Classic Games , I thought I would also post another of the quizzes from the PBS story site. It was decent fun and a lively trip down memory lane. How did I do? I am a bit of a geek so I got 11/18 right on the little flash quiz. Basically, you listen to a short sound clip from a classic arcade/console game and you have to choose which of the three available options it was. Some of them were really hard, others, if you ever played that game, you kn...

Apparently the PBS did a program on the history and future of gaming, and as part of their internet supplement to this program, they posted a quiz about classic gaming in 3 progressively harder levels for a total of 26 questions(7 Easy, 14 medium, 5 hard). I passed the first and second part(6 and 13 correct answers respectively) and I thought it would be interesting to see how my fellow bloggers would fair on the test. It is available here:

In a previous article , I complained about the lack of quality games at the beginning of the college football season. I am glad to report that the Miami vs. Florida State game has been rescheduled for tonight, after being delayed because of Frances. This makes my weekend, because after tonight, I probably get to see Michigan vs. Notre Dame tomorrow(though I wish they would show the ISU-Iowa or Illini vs. UCLA game in my region instead of what I fear is going to be MSU vs. Central Michiga...

Man, oh man... I feel SO bad for the guy in this story. He's just cruising along and he stops at a corner, rolls down his window... and it suddenly hit by 370 gallons of liquid manure.... or to put that in laymen's terms... about 7 bathtubs worth of crap. Now, I felt bad for those people who got bombed from the funky mess that came out of the Dave Matthews band's tour bus, but I don't think that was a bad as this. I think that is one of those supreme moments of "if only" for that guy......

The following question was asked today on the Internet Movie Database: We're resurrecting one of our favorite polls from last year: You're making the road trip back to college. Which summer movie character do you least want calling "shotgun"? These were the choices Hitman Vincent (Collateral) Senator Eleanor Shaw (The Manchurian Candidate) Noah Percy, Village Idiot (The Village) Handsy Doc Ock (Spider-Man 2) Misfit Napoleon Dynamite (Napoleon Dynamite) Shapeshifting Prof...

Games make the world go round to paraphrase Moe Syzlak, so it seemed likeas good a time as any to do suggest a few flash/java-game related sites. Havefun, and remember, its just a game!  Pogo - http://www.pogo.com Pogo is an online gaming site associated with Electronic Arts, which has anice twist to it.... the possibility that you can win money by playing... eitherthrough instant prizes at the completion of a game or by trading in gamingpoints for tickets for daily, weekly ...

A very brief quiz to play around with. When I was looking at some of the other quizzes out there, the World's Smallest Political quiz kept coming up. Of course, it took me 4 or 5 more days to actually give it a shot. Anyway, on to my results: According to your answers, your political philosophy is: left-liberal Left-Liberal Left-Liberals generally embrace freedom of choice in personal matters, but support central decision-making in economics. They want the government to help the d...

I've been here less than a month... and I logged in tonight... and found out that my blog was rated 10th... I'm flabbergasted.... thank you all for reading me and helping me get to the list... Again, I say WHA? I know such success will probably be short lived, so that's why I am reveling in it now(just as TW did when she got to the top 20) And speaking of Texas Wahine.... the secret of my success:

Well, we always knew that the Swedes were cheapskates and flimflammers, and now we have proof! Apparently a Swedish scofflaw is claiming that a parking ticket he received on his snowmobile after parking it on the street for three hours in Warwick, England on the second day of summer has no basis in reality. This man has to take responsibility for his actions. He claims that it was parked in his garage the whole time... a likely story if I ever heard one. In fact, its one of the oldest stories...

I await the arrival of college football season with a blend of both unending enthusiasm and a little bit of dread. I love college football in almost all its glorious shades, but there is one thing that always leaves me disappointed. You see, I know that the enlightened Athletic Directors are going to do something which, while being the best interests of the schools they represent, make the beginning of the season BORING! They schedule games with competition that is not up to par. The big tea...

I was just thinking about this silly game that used to get played when I was a child called MASH, which stands for Mansion/Apartment/Shack/House. Basically, it was this little folded game(I never really understood how the folding was done. I mean, they were a work of origami as far as I was concerned), which you had a little list and by using the numbers inside, you'd figure out who you would end up with, where you'd live, what you'd drive, what you'd do for a living, how many kids you'd have...

These are dark days indeed. The Associated Press, when describing an incident involving the current Miss Universe, a fashion show and a skirt she was wearing falling to her ankles, used the term Wardrobe Malfunction... which means that this turn of phrase is becoming more and more legitimate as a statement... sigh. Who would have thought that Justin Timberlake was going to contribute something to the English Language that was actually going to stick. I know the language is always evol...
