A little bit weird, a little bit political with a lot of humor.

I just found out that one of my favorite comics, RehabilitatingMr. Wiggles , is no longer going to be in the New York Press, which I fearwill perhaps change its availability elsewhere as well. In that vein, I amposting creator Neil Swaab's short entry asking those of us who love his demented workto email and snail mail the NY Press to see if they will reconsider. Hopefully other bloggers will pick this up and do the same... so if you knowbloggers on other sites who like RehabilitatingMr. Wi...

So the Virginia Democratic party is... eyeing Ben Affleck to take on Republican Senator George Allen in next year's elections. Affleck claims through his representation that he wouldn't run if he moved into the Charlottesville area with Jennifer Garner, but his representative, Ken Sunshine(which is right up there with Bumble Ward for sheer name oddity) said that "He would make a superb public candidate for public office in the future." Just when you think something can't get worse.... jus...

I was watching television on Saturday, just flipping between college games, when I just happened to stop on a station during a commercial break. There was a FedEx commercial on and... I recognized one of the actors in it as someone I not only went to high school with, but someone who I had actually known AND had acted with during that time. To say I was surprised to see this guy in a such a prominent ad would be to vastly underestimate my reaction, because I haven't seen this guy in like ...

I never thought I'd say this but... Eric Cartman was right about something. He said the following: "Naw dude, Independent films are those black and white hippy movies. They're always about gay cowboys eating pudding." Now it has come true I pray more things he said don't come true... because it will be a much scarier world if it does.

I first began thinking about this when I started hearing about relatively large numbers of former residents of New Orleans being transported to places like Denver and Kansas City after the Astrodome was deemed full but it didn't fully hit me until last night. It seems to me there may end up being a long term demographic shift as the ripple effects of this disaster unfolds. Here's my thought: thousands of people facing the prospect of months or perhaps even years away from the town they ca...

As I blogged on Friday, an evacuatee from New Orleans reported that a barge had breached the 17th Street levee canal , which led to much speculation both here and on other sites. Within the past few days, a couple more reports have mentioned a barge being involved in a breach of not the 17th Street levee but the Industrial Canal levee, though no photographic evidence of such an event was available. Until today that is. This image has been both cropped and reduced in both size and ...

Seeing as I had a few more substantial blog entries coming up, I thought I would once again go with the fluff first... like an appetizer to the heavier meal coming up. Enjoy! Your Blog Should Be Purple You're an expressive, offbeat blogger who tends to write about anything and everything. You tend to set blogging trends, and you're the most likely to write your own meme or survey. You are a bit distant though. Your blog is all about you - not what anyone else has to say. W...

Hopefully this will be a new beginning for me being a fun blogger after the last few entries(and the ones I didn't post over the past few days). Basically the gist is you answer some questions and it determines what cartoon character you are. Though I am not sure, I think they are all characters from the Warner Brothers cartoons, so whoever you get is probably going to be someone you watched on TV as a kid or even with your kids. Anyway, here's who I got: You are Bugs BunnyYou a...

I cannot confirm the veracity of this, however, about two hours ago, I read a report from someone who had gotten out of New Orleans a few hours before the official evacuation order had been put out, and he has put forward the following claim: I just learned a construction barge rebuilding the Hammond Hwy bridge at Bucktown broke loose from the bridge and punched a hole in the New Orleans-side of the levee. It is entirely possible that were it not for this incident, the system in the main ...

Angloesque wrote an article a few days ago called " What's a Tepid fan to do? " in which she detailed how she picks who she wants to win in games that don't feature her favorite team, the Denver Broncos, and I stated that my system for picking which team I want to win in any given college game is a lot more complicated than hers for the NFL, and I was asked to post it... and while it has taken me a few days to get it all down, I will try to present it in its entirety. Here we go. 1. ...

Attentionpeople who like to develop their own playbooks for Madden... 06 is not the gamefor you. None of the reviews for the game(at least those I have read) mentionthe fact that EA changed the way that Custom Playbooks are implemented(eventhose that are put together from existing playbooks), so they are unavailablefor any mode other than "Play Now" and "Practice", makingthe feature basically worthless. Now, on one of the forums I go to, someone wrote EA a letter about the change, and the...

I was at a forum a few days ago, and a came across a certain video , which brought back a lot of memories for me as a someone who has played on quite a few MUDs in the past. Even though this video is from the World or Warcraft, it made me remember all the foolish, idiotic players I had grouped with in the past. Of course, most of these people's idiocy aren't broadcast for the rest of the world to see and enjoy. Basically, the cliffnotes for this little episode is a group called Pals for ...

It is a sad day for me... because after learning the Beck is a member of the cult/church of Scientology, I can't respect him anymore. It has cast a shadow on his career for me now, and there are probably people reading this that can't understand why his "faith" would change the way I feel about him as a performer and such. I mean, I can basically accept a lot from a performer, an actor and not judge them, but it is this one thing that I can't get past. There is just something about the gro...
