A little bit weird, a little bit political with a lot of humor.

The CIA had an opening for an assassin. After all of the background checks, interviews, and testing were done there were three finalists, two men and a woman. For the final test, the CIA agents took one of the men to a large metal door and handed him a gun. 'We must know that you will follow your instructions, no matter what the circumstances. Inside this room, you will find your target sitting in a chair. Kill them!' Upon entering the room, the man saw it was his wife sitting in the ch...

After reading about some of the new Presidential candidates that people wanted to square off against in the Political Machine, it got me to thinking about who I would put on my ideal historical ticket. There were so many men and women of quality when I first started thinking about it that the decision of who exactly I was looking for in a candidate seem was an difficult task indeed. Then I thought about other world leaders who may have been a good part of a ticket. So in that spirit, in ad...

I was just reading daily comics on Yahoo! and I came across a brilliant bit of political commentary on John Kerry from BC of all places. I love seeing both sides get whammied by comedy....

Greywar wrote anarticle about a movie called Brainwashing 101 , about the biasesdeveloping on American college campuses, and after watching the movie, I wasreminded of my own time in college when I was getting my history degree. Eventhen I was seeing a shift... though not so much in campus politics.... but inwhat was "important" in my field.  When I started, the first year courses were pretty much all Generalhistory-type courses, and as your progressed, you would get more and more targe...

Depending on your point of view the dynamic duo behind South Park and Team America were either striking yet another blow for voter apathy, or a step in the right direction for producing informed voters in a recent interview when the pair told uninformed and undecided voters to stay home. "Stay home, it doesn't matter who you're gonna vote for. If you really don't know who you're gonna vote for, or are uninformed, or haven't really thought about it? Just stay home." Matt Stone remarked in ...

I think anyone who's played a fair amount of games in the past 20 years remembers a few gems that they wish they would bring back again in a new form. Here's a few games that I would like to play on a new console. Super Dodge Ball : Now, I LOVED this game when I played it at the arcade, and I had it for the original NES.... I mean, it was good clean arcade action.... and I don't think I ever had as much raw fun since playing it. Someone has to buy this license and put out a new one. ...

Friendster... the often maligned social networking service that is still probably still the biggest one out there... which means that probably a lot of you have profiles there, even if you've taken your business elsewhere, as it were. But now you can use Friendster as another avenue for getting readers for your blog... but using that old profile at Friendster. As Brad has said in the past, part of the secret to getting highly read articles is to have them available in a lot of places, an...

Ok, there has been a trend forming ever since the Mole II was aired for three episodes in its Fall slot in 2001 and restarted the following May. When it happened, there was a fervour... and a lot of calls from fans to boycott watching the network. But it passed, and Reality TV recovered. Then Fox cancelled Forever Eden and Playing it Straight after it specifically said that no matter the ratings, they would run their course. And again, the fans(all 6 of them) cried foul and claimed they wo...

There are some really... bad times to post blog entries.... most of these times are transitory it seems, but Friday afternoons have never been kind to me here for posting articles, and Tuesdays and Wednesdays have often been much better to me... don't know why. So, does anyone else have times/days that they hate to post new entries?

While I was writing this article, I had a hard time thinking of what category I was going to put it in.... I mean, it is political in a way, and it is also going to behistorical or gaming related... but in the end, I decided that this was a bit more philosophical in nature. However, I think Misc. might serve this best .. but I am undecided about that at themoment, so the category might change. EDIT: Welcome to the history category! I began asking myself when a draw really is a draw and...

I was just reading a story on Yahoo! News, as I am apt to do, and I just had to share it with you all. Dick Cheney made a booboo in last night's debate, an error that sent people not towards evidence that he believed refuted Edwards' Halliburton claims, but to an anti-Bush site that featured an article by George Soros instead. Now, that's comical. Not laugh out loud, movie funny, but it did put a smile on this liberal's face. Now, trust me, I've been there. I've typed .com when I knew it ...

I was browsing the Bad Cookie site, and I clicked on their sponsor link, and I was surprised to find amongst 5 other books about fortune cookies, America the Book by Jon Stewart... I didn't know it had anything to do with fortune cookies... imagine my shock. Honestly, I think that Amazon is using its own technology to push a few items in a less than subtle way(and not with any particular political agenda mind you), despite the assurances that recommendations would be based on sales ...

I've been playing a totally free war game for the past week called SteelPanthers: Main Battle Tank (SPMBT), and it sure has a lot to recommend it.Based on the Steel Panthers II: Modern Battles engine, this widelyexpanded version allows players to set up a wide variety of battle typesthroughout the 1946-2020 period.  Personally, I like to fight defensively, so I usually try to hold off anassault, but each player can set up the conditions they want to fight under. With so many options ...
