A little bit weird, a little bit political with a lot of humor.
James Caviezel considers Superman role
Published on September 13, 2004 By historyishere In Movies & TV & Books
James Caviezel, who was last seen as Jesus Christ, is rumored to be in the running to play Superman in Bryan Singer's new retelling of that mythos(thank you Kevin Smith for putting the word "mythos" and Superman forever together in my mind).A lot of actors have expressed fears that playing the Man in Steel would typecast them, but Caviezel would seem to fit will in the role, and after playing Jesus... it would seem to be hard to get typecast as Superman.

Then again, he has already played someone that is selfless, is born of an otherworldly father, had a life full of the miraculous and suffered for mankind, so playing a character that is in essence, a reflection of those same conditions, well... it should be a very easy role to play for him. Just substitute learning Aramaic for doing a lot of green screen and special F/X work, and basically you've got the same movie. Just with less temptation and no 30 pieces of silver... although someone is probably going to get thirty points on the domestic gross.

It would be win-win, wouldn't it?

So many people have been up for that role too... I mean, if they were brunette and between 20-40, then they were up for the part. Matt Damon was flabbergasted when he found out he was being considered for the role....
