SpikeTV to resurrect silly game show.
Once upon a time SpikeTV filmed a short-run reality series.... one which did not make it to their fall schedule... and was thought to have been lost to vagaries of cable-tv scheduing.... and then its celebrity star passed away under strange circumstances... wonder what will become of that series now... hmmm... why do I suddenly hear the sound of a cash registers?
Ok, basically, here is the skinny on this series that SpikeTV created: a contestant had to stay within 10 feet of ODB over a series of a 5 days, a distance that would have been monitored by electronic monitors(probably much like the ones prisoners who are under house arrest or are on certain forms of parole must wear), to win $25000 dollars... with a deduction of 5K being made every time the pair was separated.
Now, I admit it, I liked SpikeTV's other major reality series, Joe Schmo, but this.... it sounded gimmicky the first time I read about it. I am sure that some people would have watched it out of curiosity to see just how nutty Mr. Jones was, but I don't think it would have gotten as wide an audience as it has in potential now. I still think it won't do that well, but now... their is sense of morbid fascination attached to this.... and I don't know if that is the best thing right now, and I don't think this is going to be Must-See-TV.... though only time will tell....
