A little bit weird, a little bit political with a lot of humor.
I was talking to one of my friends tonight during the SNL broadcast, and she told me to turn it on quick because apparently Ashlee Simpson walked off the stage because her mike didn't work, so I flipped it on, but I had missed the walk off... it was at the commercials... but she had caught it on TiVo.

So she went back and watched the incidents that happened before Ashlee walked off. She was dancing and all happy away from mike, and the band started playing Autobiography.... and all of a sudden, the vocal track from "Pieces of Me" started playing, and the band switched to playing that and Ashlee got all flustered and bolted.

She then had the gall to blame her band for playing the wrong song! What's up with that!?! Now that was just plain wrong. I expect people to be talking about this today/tomorrow. It's already made a huge splash on the Ashlee Simpson Site's forum.

UPDATE: She DID sing live!

Who would think that an artist singing live would be newsworthy....

That explains why she looked bewildered and repeatedly made an ass of herself with her odd on-and-off jigg-dancing.

I'm actually hoping her dance becomes the next macarena.

You mean around shortly and only responsible for one hit if that?

Well, since I am so incredibly uncoordinated, it might turn out to be the only dance I am successful with! Long live the Ashlee Jigg of Fraudulence!

Oh, no not that then. Whatever dance is so popular everybody does it.. like that roof thing.

Let's bring back the Monkey!

The worst part of this whole mess is that the attention span of Western society is so short, that in two weeks her new record will be number one. Lip Sync-ing isnt that bad, but when you throw it in everyones face and then it goes away, thats what "older" people hate. I think thats the major p-off. Years ago if you pulled a stunt like this your career was over (Milli Vanilli??). No there's spin doctors and lies and so on that everyone just happily follows. Its really tragic. Her career should be over. Does anyone disagree that if she disappears into obscurity that some new 18 year-old wont be there to fill her shoes?
Tragic.

They've already got the album written and recorded... they are just waiting for a chink to form in the phalanx of media coverage of the other "stars" to hit the mainstream media with it.

Ugh, it makes me sick. I will crank up my music just to try to balance things out.

all those boy bands

there aren't very many boy bands anymore. The two major, N'sync, and BSB's are gone bye-bye, thank God!! I don't know of any other real boy bands

Yes, but there could be more... they are like zombies or roaches that way... you think you've killed them all and then they pop back up again.

LoL True, but that kind of music isn't really popular anymore. Music artists like Hubastank, and Avril Lavigne are popular now. Pop isn't so hot.

Patience, young padawan. It'll be over soon enough.

Is that a promise? Please, please, please let it be so.

A boy band/pop star by any other name would still smell just like manufactured plastic....
