Ashlee Simpson caught lip-syncing on live broadcast of SNL

I was talking to one of my friends tonight during the SNL broadcast, and she told me to turn it on quick because apparently Ashlee Simpson walked off the stage because her mike didn't work, so I flipped it on, but I had missed the walk off... it was at the commercials... but she had caught it on TiVo.

So she went back and watched the incidents that happened before Ashlee walked off. She was dancing and all happy away from mike, and the band started playing Autobiography.... and all of a sudden, the vocal track from "Pieces of Me" started playing, and the band switched to playing that and Ashlee got all flustered and bolted.

She then had the gall to blame her band for playing the wrong song! What's up with that!?! Now that was just plain wrong. I expect people to be talking about this today/tomorrow. It's already made a huge splash on the Ashlee Simpson Site's forum.

I was reading that SNL used to have something in their music contracts that stated NO LIP SYNCHING... but they've somehow removed that provision from their more recent season contracts.

ugly. i couldn't name her songs (never actually heard one), but cheaters cheat and they deserve the humiliation. she corked her bat.

I could say I did it myself, but then I would be no better than Ashlee... it was a great find on my part though(in retrospect I could have done it though)

and this just in.... all eyes are going to be on her tonight as she "performs" at NBC's Radio Music Awards at 9.... and a cynical part of me wonders if this momentary embarrassment was really just a ploy to get people to watch an awards show practically no one has heard of.

Hopefully, she'll actually sing at the show (and not be booed off). I hope she recovers quickly from this, even if she did put her foot in her mouth.

Yeah . . . that explains it nicely, doesn't it? That explains why she looked bewildered and repeatedly made an ass of herself with her odd on-and-off jigg-dancing. It also explains why she bolted off the stage. And it explains why she blamed her band for "playing the wrong song." Wow . . . it really clears things up, doesn't it? She's just digging a deeper hole for herself.

Yeah... its sort of lame.... because the reason she supposedly had the "supporting" track was because her voice was tired.... well, if your voice is tired, then why are you performing 2 days after that?
