A little bit weird, a little bit political with a lot of humor.
A CIA joke.

The CIA had an opening for an assassin. After all of the background checks, interviews, and testing were done there were three finalists, two men and a woman. For the final test, the CIA agents took one of the men to a large metal door and handed him a gun.

'We must know that you will follow your instructions, no matter what the circumstances. Inside this room, you will find your target sitting in a chair. Kill them!'

Upon entering the room, the man saw it was his wife sitting in the chair. The man said, 'You can't be serious. I could never shoot my wife.' The agent said, 'Then you're not the right man for this job.'

The second man was given the same instructions. He took the gun and went into the room and saw his own wife sitting in the chair. All was quiet for about five minutes. Then the man came out with tears in his eyes. 'I tried, but I can't kill my wife.'

The agent said, 'You don't have what it takes. Take your wife and go home.'

Finally, it was the woman's turn. She was given the same instructions. She took the gun and went into the room where she discovered her husband seated in the room. After a few seconds, shots were heard, one shot after another. Then the agents heard screaming, crashing, and banging on the walls. After a few minutes, all was quiet. The door opened slowly and there stood the woman. She wiped the sweat from her brow, and said, 'Some idiot loaded this thing with blanks... so I had to beat him to death with the chair.'

. I didn't see that one coming. Funny stuff, but now you reminded me I still have to wait until January for the new season of Alias. Grrrr.

I've heard it before, and it's STILL funny.

Yeah, I can't wait for January. 'Course it means I'm gonna be glued to my TV every Sunday night at 9, but what the hell.

Of course, there aren't supposed to be reruns this upcoming season either... which is always a plus

Yup. I used to miss on Sunday nights when I'd be *gasp* studying and then I'd get all confused when they'd show a rerun that I hadn't seen before. This will be nice.

Yeah, the lack of weeks and week off and random reruns thrown in will be a big bonus. I look forward to the direction JJ takes it this season. I recently read that he was disappointed with the direction the series took last season. Very excited, as Alias was the one show I "scheduled".

I thought it was weird that 24 is also going with a January/non-stop schedule too...

I don't think it is weird. I think it is especially smart for a show like 24. With only 24 episodes all taking place in one day you really, really need the continuity of not having weeks off. I think it will make it a lot stronger, as I think it will do for Alias. The trick is just getting more folks to tune into Alias so ABC continues to keep it on. At least as long as they can make it an interesting, fresh, exciting show.

Fox is also going to do double episode nights too...

With Alias... there are always times where it basically turns into a fresh start... so people can get into it at certain points without needing a spotter's guide. Maybe the start of season 4 will be one of those moments.
